Where’s Springfield’s Best Salad?

with 6 comments

Amy & I were searching the web looking for good salad recipes and I thought I’d throw this out on the blog.  What restaurants or businesses make the best salads in Springfield and which one of their salads do you think is the best?

Here’s a chance for us to salute places we can eat healthy and still eat well.

  1. I don’t think they’re too healthy, but the salads at St. Michael’s are AWESOME.

  2. J. Parrino’s has a wonderful salad called the Market Place salad. They took it when the Market Place (used to be Billy’s Chili and Bar Bar) went under. It is made with all kinds of goodies (including artichoke hearts) and it has this unique sweet basil dressing that is to DIE FOR. Oh man, I love that salad.

  3. I’d have to say Panera is my personal choice if I’m really in the mood for a salad. My favorite is the Greek salad, although I think all of their choices are good. If I’m in the mood for a crispy chicken salad though, Brew Co beats out all others.

I tried something so very strange at Friday’s a while back, it was a cold Lasagna Salad. Sounds odd, doesn’t it? Definitely something I’d get again.

  4. The Dynamite Chicken Salad with BBQ Ranch dressing at Rib Crib. Awesome! Try it.

  5. This isn’t a GO endorsement, per se, but here are a few of the best:

Farmers’ Market salad at Kaldi’s Coffeehouse (tons of fruit)

Any salad at St. Michael’s downtown (seriously, they’re amazing)

The pear/gorgonzola something-or-other at The Grotto

  6. Wow…thanks for all the suggestions. I’ve walked past St. Michael’s many times but never stopped in to eat. I’ll have to check them out. The Rib Crib salad sounds very tempting as well.

    Please keep the suggestions coming!
